Raingauge at Lux Arbor was plugged. I dumped the water in the funnel and cleaned it. I changed the antenna at the weather station to a 900 Mhz 8dbi omnidirectional antenna.

Air Temperature sensor at the Hancock Weather station failed. It's returning -100 C. and 112 logger is having trouble sending data.

I stopped the program to help with the download but it had no effect. I will restart the program.if I can't get it to download and check in a few days. The status table can be read but the status summary is empty.

power cycled cell modem at Lux Arbor to restore connection. Adjusted solar panels to the summer position.

Replaced wind sensors at the pondlab weather station. Replaced the humidity sensor HMP45C. Replaced the battery, and replaced the existing solar panel with one of the REX panels in an attempt to maintain the voltage a little better.

Noticed that the funnel was off on the rain gauge. It might have been blown off with the recent wind storms. I re-installed the funnel

Replaced the weather station logger with a CR1000x. I updated the OS to version 8.04. The station was back in operation around 16:00.

Added external antenna on lux arbor switchgrass tower

The CR1000 at the weather station is no longer responding even when directly (serial port) plugged into a computer. The power seems ok and the radio blinks normally. I will need to replace the logger.

removed radios from T7R3 and T7R5.

installed morningstar controller at Lux weather station. I hooked up the cell modem to the load and left the rest of the system connected to the CH150, The battery is connected to both the Morningstart controller and the CH150. The morningstar controller is hooked up to the solar panel, so it acts as the charge controller. the CH150 only acts as a regulator.

mcse loggernet network was in a jabber state. I shut down the T7 R6 and R4 radios and it cleared up. I removed the radios from R2, R6 and R4, since the sensors were out.

Data is flowing again

moved 2 radios from the interactions plots to the BCSE MLE plots so they can be reached by the gasshed tower.

BCSE. rain gauge was plugged. I let the water drain through the gauge and cleaned the funnel.

set up datalogger on tower 2. Enabled ethernet port, and loaded program. Tested Loggernet communication.

Dave and I lowered the tower boom between 14:00 and 14:30. Dave aligned the CO2 sensor and I installed the rain gauge and the soil sensors. I put the heatflux plates about 1 cm below the surface with the dot facing up, the soil moisture and temperature probes vertically. I'm not sure if the soil temperature probes are supposed to be vertical or horizontal. Planting was nice and close to the tower.

Replaced weather station battery at Hancock. Tagged instrumetations and some sensors.

Almost no snow.

Replaced the weather station batteris at Escanaba and Rhinelander. Tagged instruments and some sensors with barcodes.

Minimal snow at either location.

Replaced the Battery at the Lake City MLE weather station and logger 125. Labeled sensors with qrcodes.

Snow depth was 15 inches at the snow depth sensor.

Replaced Battery at the Lake City Weather station. Cleaned out raingauge. 1 extra tip. Checked moisture logger. The 121 logger box lock was jammed. Need to bring some graphite next time.

I moved the Campbell logger uploads from lennon2.rb to lng and shut down the rain gauge loader.

Brook reported that the rainfall on enviro-weather is much greater than what we saw. I discovered that a bit of insulation had deteriorated allowing the tipping bucket to short out. Since I could not assign the rainfall from the 15 minute weighing record to the 5 minute tipping bucket record. I nulled out all of the suspected tipping bucket data from 2023-7-14 to 2023-7-25.

Solar panel line appeared shorted at Rhinelander logger #118 R2. Shortened the cable and installed a new solar controller and battery. Replaced battery at the Rhinelander weather station.

Snow depth 7.5 inches at 13:00 at Rhinelander and 7.5 inches at 16:00 at Escanaba.

Snow depth at Hancock 7 inches. Replaced battery on the Moisture logger closest to the weather station.

Loggernet radio network locked up again. Power cycled the base radio and it things started to work again. 105 logger reports Table defs suspect. Reloaded table defs in setup. stopped and restarted the program which restored operation.

Checked lux arbor mle rain gauge. All clear

reconnected the rain-gauge on BCSE 102 logger.

sampled gravimetric soil samples from G5 Escanaba around 10:00 and Rhinelander between 14:00 and 15:00 local time. Checked weather station. rain funnel clear at Rhinelander, plugged at escanaba.

checked and removed non-responsive CS650 probes from the interactions plots loggers. There were 5 bad probes.

Second radio network storm this week. I swapped out the USB to serial connector without a change in the symptoms. I powered down the main radio for a few minutes, and the storm returned after powering it back on. I powered down the rain gauge and turned off the main radio for about 5 minutes, and it seemed to recover. The table names on logger 105 were corrupted again as in the previous episode. Last time I was able to restart the program on 105 remotely, and it restored the table names. I suspect that it is just the cache that got corrupted during the network storm and not the data logger tables. This time, I could not maintain communication to the 105 logger long enough to restart the program. I will have to run out there and restart by power cycling. I'm leaving communication with logger 105 off for the moment until I can power cycle the logger.

replaced SR50 with SR50A-L at LTER weather station. SR50 only returned 0's. Adjusted the sensor height in the program to reflect the new sensor length.

BSCE raingauge was plugged. Cleaned orfice and re-installed.

Replaced battery on Lux Arbor weather station and removed the camera. I'm not sure if it's a new battery.

BCSE rain-gauge was plugged. I dumped the water and cleaned out the funnel.

replaced wind speed and direction sensor on LTER weather station. Installed wind speed sensor model 014 serial number 447 and wind direction sensor model 024A serial number U2084

replaced the air temperature and humidity sensor at Lux Arbor. New sensor E16104. Found out that SDI12 commands are case sensitive, so "m!" != 'M!'. I must have replaced the program when it failed but I did not record it. I updated the program to use "M" everywhere.

Put logger box at Lake City back into position. Lots of bird poop. Rain gauge plugged, cleared out. No sing of soil moisture probes on the surface. Reconnected ground wires.

aligned the sun photometer. H.Org = -23.5

discovered that the funnel was blown off the raingauge at the glbrc site during saturday's storm.

raingauge ran out of battery power. Replaced battery, and filled missing values with data from the tipping bucket.

cleaned out the rain gauge on the glbrc site again. Washed with about a liter of water and got some more junk out, but there is still some in there.

checked the rain gauge at the glbrc site. Found the funnel plugged. removed the obstruction from the funnel about 12:20. The funnel was full of water.

The wind sensors at the LTER weather station got iced in on saturday night Dec 21 and are still frozen today.
